At the Voices of Harvest Awards 2025, presented by PepsiCo India in association with NDTV, our Head of CSR, Rachana Iyer, joined policymakers, industry leaders and innovators to discuss the practices reshaping Indian agriculture. A panel on ‘India’s Women Farmers: From Embracing Change to Leading It’ highlighted how women farmers, in particular, are emerging as its most powerful catalysts. The insights Rachana shared about the success of the Shwetdhara programme underscored one central idea: when capability is built early, women shift from support roles to decision-making roles. In Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka, Shwetdhara is seeing this shift translate into real behavioural change, with thousands of rural women stepping into roles that once felt out of reach, like: * Taking technical decisions on breeding, nutrition and animal health * Managing service delivery as trained practitioners and AITs * Using digital tools for farm planning and improved productivity * Becoming trusted information anchors for other women in their villages It was a moment of pride for the bank and our NGO partners to see Shwetdhara recognised on a national platform for enabling this transformation.
